PAST PROJECTS / UTOPIA
|
| The Need |
| Utopia was anything but during the summer of 2002. The Texas
town flooded from torrential rains. Many homes were destroyed, leaving dozens of
families homeless. The residents were in desperate need of a creative outlet in
order to come together as a community while dealing with the storm's
aftermath. |
 |
|
| The Project |
| Project Palette offered three different art classes to the town's
residents and the surrounding communities. Basic drawing techniques were taught
along with valuable tips on experimenting with a variety of mediums. Team
building exercises were utilized to help gain confidence for the
participants. |
|
|
| The Outcome |
| Students young and old learned valuable lessons about life and
art while at the same time fostering their creativity during this project. They
displayed their artwork proudly and learned to critique the work of others as
well as having their own creations critiqued. Most discovered more diversity and
talent in Utopia than they ever thought possible. |
